The DVB502 record box for TV is August International’s first SSD Freeview box. An SSD (Solid State Drive) allows faster and more efficient TV recording, even able to record HD channels! The SSD is 256GB, which is enough storage for 50 hours of 4K or 100+ hours of 1080p recording.
You can expand your storage even further by using a USB device and the USB port on the front of the box. August Double-downs on the storage capacity and speed to ensure you can create a library of your favourite content with no subscriptions, no internet required and no recurring fees.
Internal Storage for Easy Use
Get up and running in no time with included HDMI and power cables, and inbuilt M.2 SSD storage. Simply connect an aerial and your TV to begin scanning for channels. The DVB502 doesn’t require USB set-up and works out of the box.
You can manually assign storage (internal or USB) to Timeshift, Record, or both. This means you can use a USB for Timeshift data (Pause and Rewind TV) without getting in the way of your TV recordings on the internal SSD.
Don’t have a USB? That’s fine! Simply allocate the internal SSD to do both timeshift and record.
Freeview Reception and HD Channels
Using any terrestrial digital tv aerial, the DVB502 can receive over 100 Freeview channels in the UK or DVB-T and DVB-T2 channels abroad. Thanks to the digital aerial you can also tune to Freeview radio.
HD Channels are available depending on your region. HD channels can be enjoyed as-intended with full 1080p footage, recorded seamlessly with the fast M.2 SSD. You’ll wonder why you ever recorded in SD!
Freeview Box Which Records Two Channels at Once
The “Dual-tuner” allows the box to tune into two different channels simultaneously. If your favourites clash you can record one whilst watching the other, then access the recording and watch straight away. This also enables you to record two overlapping shows while you are out or busy, so you can be spoilt for choice!
Programmable Remote Control
Using the buttons at the top of the DVB502 allows you to control your TV and set top box through the same remote. Hold SET, then have your TV and our set top remote face each other. Press the required button (For example, Power On) on your TV remote and our remote. Repeat this for each button such as volume up /down and source change.

What is “SSD” Storage?
The DVB502 uses “SSD” Solid State Drive storage, which is faster and more efficient than standard hard drive or USB drive storage. This means you can seamlessly record HD channels, for example.
TV Says “No Signal”?
The DVB502 does not have a “No Signal” screen, if you see a screen like this please make sure your TV (using your TV remote) is set to the correct “Source” or “Input”. In most cases this will be HDMI 1. Check the port you plugged the HDMI or SCART cable in to and select it on your TV.
